IBM WebSphere Portal Configuration - Sample
IBM's Websphere Portal 6 technology can integrate with virtually any existing infrastructure and network allowing you to leverage your existing IT investments. Portal generally sits inside your network fielding traffic being processed by a web server located in the DMZ configured to transfer data over an encrypted path to Portal. Portal then uses your existing Domino Diretory, MS Active Directory, IBM Directory or other directory as the LDAP server, and leverages your existing messaging servers to render PIM portlets so users can log in once, access their email, web content and any back end data that is made available through the portal.
